Mudras

The human body is made up of 5 elements and so our five fingers also have 5 elements. Mudras control these five elements, so when people feel sick, it means their 5 elements are not in balance. Mudras are always balancing out these elements. Our fingers have some specific points and when we press these points, it controls our elements. Mudras are the shapes we make with our fingers.

Thumb – fire

Index finger – air

Middle finger – Sky

Ring finger – Earth

Little finger – Water

For our Mudra practice, we must be sitting upright and in a  comfortable position, the  fresh air needs to flow through the room and the surrounding open space.

Roll out a clean mat or something and sitting easy comfortable pose. Spine is straight and shoulders down.

Sitting Pdmasan (lotus pose) or Bajrasan and put your hands on your knees.

Close your eyes, regular breath.

And chant OM.

Remove thoughts or stop thinking. Sitting at least 5 minutes.

We can do this mudra at any time, but the best time is Bramma Muhurta (morning time).

  1. Dhyan or Gyan Mudra

Fold your index finger and touch the top of the index finger with the thumb. The rest of the fingers must be straight and palms facing up.

Benefit

Through regular practice of this Mudra, we remove all kinds of bad things from the mind like Anger, Fear, Ego, etc and make fresh our mind, increase mind capacity, make dhyan or meditation, increase the immune  system, Gyan (Knowledge)  to control the mind  and can help with insomnia, headaches and Migraine etc.

  1. Vayu Mudra (Air)

Fold index finger and press with thumbs the root of index finger and the rest of the fingers must be straight and palm facing up.

For our Mudra practice, we must be sitting upright and in a  comfortable position, the  fresh air needs to flow through the room and the surrounding open space.

Roll out a clean mat or something and sitting easy comfortable pose. Spine is straight and shoulders down.

Sitting Pdmasan (lotus pose) or Bajrasan and put your hands on your knees.

Close your eyes, regular breath.

And chant OM.

Benefit

If some people have not digested properly or have some gas in their stomach, this mudra is really good for them. After meals, we have to do this Mudra for 5 min.

It removes any joint or knee pain.

It can remove neck pain in just a few minutes.

 

  1. Aakas Mudra (Sky)

Fold the middle finger and touch of the top of middle finger with thumbs, the rest of the fingers must be straight and palm facing up.

For our Mudra practice, we must be sitting upright and in a  comfortable position, the  fresh air needs to flow through the room and the surrounding open space.

Roll out a clean mat or something and sitting easy comfortable pose. Spine is straight and shoulders down.

The practice of this mudra relieves heart problems, makes peace in our hearts, makes our bones strong, removes joint pain in body and helps reduce swelling.

 

  1. Sunya Mudra (Space)

Fold middle finger and touch the middle of middle finger with thumbs, rest of finger must be straight and palm facing up.

For our Mudra practice, we must be sitting upright and in a  comfortable position, the  fresh air needs to flow through the room and the surrounding open space.

Roll out a clean mat or something and sitting easy comfortable pose. Spine is straight and shoulders down.

Benefit

If some people have ear pain, this mudra makes them well.

If somebody has some dust or dirt in the ears or some hear less, these kinds of people must sit in this mudra for almost 4-5 minutes.

And other ear problems will be solved.

 

  1. Prithibi Mudra (Earth)

Fold ring finger and touch of the top of ring finger with thumb, rest of finger must be straight and palm facing up.

For our Mudra practice, we must be sitting upright and in a  comfortable position, the  fresh air needs to flow through the room and the surrounding open space.

Roll out a clean mat or something and sitting easy comfortable pose. Spine is straight and shoulders down.

This Mudra gives us earth power. If some people feel weak, this mudra gives them power.

This mudra helps us to lose weight.

  1. Surya Mudra (Sun)

Fold ring finger and touch of the middle of ring finger with thumbs, rest of finger must be straight and palm facing up.

For our Mudra practice, we must be sitting upright and in a  comfortable position, the  fresh air needs to flow through the room and the surrounding open space.

Roll out a clean mat or something and sitting easy comfortable pose. Spine is straight and shoulders down.

Sitting Pdmasan (lotus pose) or Bajrasan and put your hands on your knees.

Benefit

Every day at least two times for almost 15min.

It removes swelling in our body.

It removes all kinds of stomach pain.

After practicing this Mudra for a long time, people begin to feel fresh of mind, remove depression and remove fear and tension.

 

  1. Varun Mudra (water)

Fold little finger and top of the little finger with thumbs, rest of finger must be straight and palm facing up.

For our Mudra practice, we must be sitting upright and in a  comfortable position, the  fresh air needs to flow through the room and the surrounding open space.

Roll out a clean mat or something and sitting easy comfortable pose. Spine is straight and shoulders down.

Sitting Pdmasan (lotus pose) or Bajrasan and put your hands on your knees.

This mudra controls all kinds of water and stops all kinds of waterborne diseases in our body.

This mudra controls Nerve pain and stop swelling in parts of the intestines.

Regular Practice have stop unnecessary sweets comes from the body.

Regular Practice cleans the blood and helps make our skin smoother.

This mudra helps to control thirst.

 

  1. Jalodar nashak mudra ( water control)

Fold little finger and middle of the little finger with thumbs, rest of finger must be straight and palm facing up.

For our Mudra practice, we must be sitting upright and in a  comfortable position, the  fresh air needs to flow through the room and the surrounding open space.

Roll out a clean mat or something and sitting easy comfortable pose. Spine is straight and shoulders down.

Sitting Pdmasan (lotus pose) or Bajrasan and put your hands on your knees.

Benefit            

Overload of water in the body can cause swelling this mundra is very good at reducing this.

Once this problem has been resolved, we must stop this particular mudra practice.

 

  1. Apana Mudra

Fold middle and ring finger touch with thumbs, rest of finger must be straight and palm facing up.

For our Mudra practice, we must be sitting upright and in a  comfortable position, the  fresh air needs to flow through the room and the surrounding open space.

Roll out a clean mat or something and sitting easy comfortable pose. Spine is straight and shoulders down.

Sitting Pdmasan (lotus pose) or Bajrasan and put your hands on your knees.

Body, Pulse and Nerves are made fit and fine.

Any stool problems or illnesses relating to stools will be controlled.

Control Constipation.

Very effective for any problems with Hemorrhoids.

Control Insomnia problem.

Makes stomach and other internal organs strong.

Helps unnecessary gas and helps people with diabetes

This mudra is an Antiviral and helps other bad constipation

This mudra helps teeth pain and any kinds of teeth problem.

It makes the heart strong and controls body heat.

 

  1. Prana Mudra

Fold ring finger and little finger and touch with thumbs, rest of finger must be straight and palm facing up.

For our Mudra practice, we must be sitting upright and in a  comfortable position, the  fresh air needs to flow through the room and the surrounding open space.

This mudra is good for eyes and lungs.

This mudra helps with vitamin deficiency.

This mudra we have to do everyday.

 

  1. Sankha Mudra

Put right thumbs to left palm and hold like this picture and touch left thumbs to right index finger.

For our Mudra practice, we must be sitting upright and in a  comfortable position, the  fresh air needs to flow through the room and the surrounding open space.

This mudra helps singers with the sound of their voice.
